We woke up before sunrise again this morning, and wow...
Stopped in Jackson, WY (super cute town), and got some coffee.
We spent the whole day doing a whirlwind tour of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. Since we only had one day there, we hit all of the main stops. We definitely want to come back some time and spend several days there, hiking, kayaking, and exploring other areas of the parks. They were gorgeous! It snowed off and on at Yellowstone, but just a dusting.
Our first stop at Yellowstone was Old Faithful. When I asked the kids what their favorite thing they saw today was, all three said Old Faithful! It really was awesome to see in person. There were also a few buffalo roaming around the geysers.
Our next stop was the Grand Prismatic Springs, which were beautiful! We'd like to do the hike to the overlook next time we come.
Cascades of the Firehole
Beryl Spring
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
On our way out of the park, we spotted some more buffalo and some elk!
Then we headed down to Grand Teton National Park. Wowza. This was definitely high up on my list of favorite places so far.
After sunset, we drove back to the cabin for our last night there. Finished two more loads of laundry, and now we all have a fresh batch of clothes for the last half of our trip. Tomorrow, it's back to hotels!
