This hotel was awesome - comfy beds, good water pressure... wish we could spend more time here! But alas, we hit the road early again, after stealing some of their delicious breakfast and coffee.
We crossed into Kansas after a couple of hours, and entered back into the central time zone.
We played some more trivia games and watched Harry Potter on our drive today. We also found a couple of nice rest stops, where we took advantage of the nice weather and reorganized the van again - it was starting to get disastrous in here.
Our main stop for today was Monument Rocks - 50' chalk spires out in the middle of the Kansas plains. Pretty cool! We talked with a group of retirees who offered us a bag of goldfish crackers to move our van a few inches so they could get the perfect picture. 😄 Of course, we did it for free, and one of the ladies showed me where the money shot was (the first picture below).
Kansas was cool, but there's no place like home... And we'll be there in about a day and a half!
Finally, we stopped in Topeka at a local burger chain, Spangles, for dinner before getting to our hotel just over the line in Missouri. Everything was really good - and Ella and I had to order tornados, since we're in Kansas and all...
